Today I learned a new game called angle ball. It is awesome! The basics are: you have two teams playing, one ball and two poles with a ball on top. The object of the game is to hit the ball. But you cannot go inside of the crease, if you get tagged you cannot score and if the ball goes out of bounds then it is turned over to the other team. The best part about this game is that you can run as far as you want. There's no three step rule or anything like that. So some teammates can get a fast break and run away with the ball towards the goal. I liked this game because I could throw the ball from one side of the court clear across to the other. Only thing I am good at. :) Another reason I really liked this game was because I was moving the whole time. I wasn't thinking about it because I was focused on defending but I was still moving. It was a great game to get people moving and sweating. I think that this would make a great game to work with cardiorespiratory and fitness units. After that class I went to motor development and learned about practice styles. Constant, variable, blocked and random. It was pretty interesting to learn about the different styles. I have never really thought about practicing in those ways but it makes a lot of sense to me now.

This passed weekend I attended the PSAHPERD Convention at Vallye Forge Convention Center. It was the best experience of my life. I loved every minute that I spent there. From seeing so many amazing sessions to making new friends, everything about convention was great. There was one session that I absolutely loved. It was call The Hook: Instant Activities and Games. In that session all we did was play warm-up games. The session was awesome! I met so many new people from being put in different groups and I was laughing the whole time. The games were so silly and fun it was impossible not to laugh. The part I really liked was that the instructor, Dr. Fry, made sure that we did not pair up with people that we knew. That made it so much more fun. Also I went to a lot of great Health sessions. The one that I remember best was on Body Systems. The presenter was awesome. He was so funny and he had great ways of getting the students to understand the harder concepts. During his presentation he sang to us and overall it was a great experience. I definitely recommend going to convention if anyone ever has the chance. It was truly a great time.

Today I went to see a Native American seminar. Although I only went to two sessions it was great to watch. First we walked in and there was a man dressed in all white with a head piece that was telling a story. He told a story, for about an hour, and it was amazing. The man put so much detail into the story that I could picture everything that was happening as he said it. It was a tale about a man who was suffering and the tribe didnt think he was powerful. So the chief went on this adventure and learned how to carve great totem poles and make blankets and became a powerful chief. All of this came about because the chief was taken to a great house that had animal people inside and he learned their secret so he was taught great things in order to keep quiet. Then the story teller added the children into the story and had them howling like wolves. It was adorable to say the least. The second session was dancing. Again the people involved the children and there was singing and dancing. It was so much fun to watch. I am really glad that I went to see it. Everyone should go out and watch something new.
